My Last NECC

A few weeks ago I went to NECC in Atlanta, one of the largest technology conferences in the world.  Although the focus of this conference is largely K-12, with an exhibit hall with nearly 4000 vendors I found a lot to see and do. Particularly interesting for me were updates on new software:

  • Vista
  • Office 2007
  • CPS 5.0
  • Acrobat 8.0

The ”new” Office is a little daunting at first but offers some good things: ability to save as pdf, edit blogs, create covers, tables of contents and its tabs and mini toolbars will be timesavers.

Acrobat 8.0 will be very useful.  It automatically create fields for interactive forms and allows users with just the free Reader to fill out these forms on their computer and email them back.  Then the creator of the form can even get the results imported into a spreadsheet!!!

Next year NECC is in San Antonio… but the CALI conference may be replacing it.
