In a Feb. 5 post, I announced the news about Microsoft Office and Lexis.
Recently, an e-mail from Lexis stated:
We are pleased to announce that Lexis for Microsoft Office will be available for all law school students and faculty, including Mac users, for fall semester 2010. Access to it will be provided at no additional charge, as we have included it in your law school’s current academic subscription. Additionally, we have heard your request for faculty access to our new products and services ahead of your students, and in keeping with that, we are pleased to announce that you will have access to Lexis for Microsoft Office beginning in June this year…We believe Lexis for Microsoft Office will significantly transform the way legal professionals create their work product, and it is one in a series of improvements to our solution line that will culminate in the release of the New Lexis research platform, scheduled for release in law schools in Fall 2011.
So Lexis continues to compete with Westlaw…..
